The Role
The Academi Coach U15 Girls will lead the day-to-day coaching and development of players within the U15 Girls age group, delivering a high-quality, female-centred training and match environment aligned to FAW Academi standards and Wrexham AFC Women's long-term development vision.
The post holder will play a key role in bringing the Academi's player development framework to life on the training pitch and on match day, working closely with the Academi Technical Lead to ensure alignment of playing philosophy, development principles, and performance language across the pathway.
Main Responsibilities:
Coaching Delivery & Session Design
• Plan and deliver training sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the U15 Girls age group, aligned to the Academi player development framework and Wrexham AFC Women's playing philosophy.
• Design sessions that develop players technically, tactically, physically and psychologically, appropriate to the U15 age group.
• Adapt session content in response to individual player development plans (IDPs) and observed learning needs.
Player Development & Pathway
• Contribute to individual player development plans (IDPs) for all players within the U15 age group.
• Support players' progression within the Academi pathway and help identify players ready for exposure to older age groups or first-team environments.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to players to support their ongoing development.
Games Programme
• Coach the U15 Girls team in fixtures on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, in line with the agreed schedule.
• Apply a games programme that balances challenge, learning and appropriate exposure for all players.
• Support match-day organisation, team selection and in-game coaching.
Female Health & Wellbeing Integration
• Support the age-appropriate integration of female health, wellbeing and physical development principles within training and match environments.
• Work with the Academi Technical Lead and Head of Women's Health & Performance to apply female-specific development guidance within the age group.
Collaboration & Reporting
• Report into the Academi Technical Lead on player progress, session content and squad matters.
• Work closely with fellow Academi coaches to maintain consistency of playing philosophy and development principles across age groups.
• Attend coach development sessions, staff meetings and CPD as required.
Governance, Safeguarding & Compliance
• Ensure all coaching activity meets FAW Academi standards and safeguarding requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date FAW Safeguarding and First Aid certification at all times.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, player welfare and duty of care.
About you
Experience and Qualifications required:
Essential
• UEFA B coaching qualification, or actively working towards UEFA B.
• Valid FAW Safeguarding certificate.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Experience coaching girls'/young women's football, ideally within an academy or structured development environment.
• Understanding of player development principles relevant to the U15 age group.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with players, parents/guardians and staff.
• Availability to coach sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, plus matches on Friday, Saturday or Sunday depending on schedule.
Desirable
• Experience working within an FAW or FA Academy/equivalent national development system.
• Understanding of female athlete health and long-term athlete development.
• Experience contributing to individual player development plans (IDPs).
